Nicole Dubowski is a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist and entrepreneur, based between New York City and her hometown of Hampton Bays, NY. Her art primarily focuses on figurative subject matters and spans both realism, surrealism, and abstract styles utilizing various mediums including oil, watercolor, charcoal, ink, photography and mixed media. Her most recent collection features large scale abstract oils on canvas. She is particularly interested in exploring the role art in catharsis and the study of empathy and the arts and mental health issues. Thematics that emerge in her works include the human figure, space and physics, peace and war, relationships, sexuality, and personal growth. She often describes her time painting similar to an athletic or sport performance which requires a complex mixture of biomechanical and emotional function, relying heavily on meditation, movement and inspirational environmental factors such as light and sound.
Nicole has exhibited fine art in NYC and worked on award-winning engineering design projects both regionally and globally with a primary focus on delivering sustainable outcomes in the built environment. She co-founded and co-owns a real estate development firm, East Landing Development LLC and works as a Partner Lead for the Infrastructure Sector at the World Economic Forum.
Nicole obtained a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a mechanical concentration from The Pennsylvania State University, a Masters Certificate in Sustainability Leadership from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom and a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Investing and Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
